Who, What, Where, When and Why
Who: Are you glad Trump attacked Iran or are you with those who oppose the start of another war? I, personally, am against any kind of war. Has the human species, after thousands of years on this planet, not evolved enough to solve problems without killing people, destroying property and setting civilizations back for decades? It’s too bad we haven’t.
What: Are you glad that winter is slowly coming to an end? Moving the clocks ahead one hour on Sunday may help with our moods – it will stay light later in the day – but these pesky small snowstorms seem to push us back into grumpiness. So will the jump in gas and oil prices thanks to the war.
Where: I hope you got away somewhere warm this winter. I have yet to catch up with my brother who spent a couple of weeks in Hawaii recently. My warm place the past few months was my living room with my furnace running most nights. My son in Omaha informed us that it was 70F there last Friday and he enjoyed dining with friends on an outdoor deck. Thanks, Tim!
When: l am still on the fence about my retirement, although family and friends keep asking. I will turn 70 late this year, which is hard to believe sometimes, but I have enjoyed my career and making that leap as to when to give it up is something that’s been on my mind for a couple of years. Stay tuned.
Why: Back to Who on this one … War may be necessary if we believe that another country may be threatening us, but we should all be informed of that threat. I believe decisions like starting a war, especially in this area of the world, should be made by Congress, not the White House administration.
