This week at the Lincoln Theater
We are getting excited to welcome you back on Nov. 1! While our doors have been closed, our lobby has been getting some well-deserved attention. A refreshed floor with new boards and carpet, upgraded lighting to shine brighter than ever. Don’t worry—those beloved art deco fixtures aren’t gone! They’re being carefully relocated to concessions, where they’ll continue to glow with their timeless charm. We can’t wait to share this Phase 1 transformation with you as we reopen with The Met’s La Sonnambula and, of course, the dazzling Downton Abbey Opening Night Gala Celebration!
Met Live in HD: "La Sonnambula" - (Bellini; 3 hours, 15 minutes – one intermission) with Pre-Opera Talk. New Production! Playing as an ENCORE ONLY - Saturday, Nov. 1 at 1 p.m. Following triumphant Live in HD performances in Gounod’s “Roméo et Juliette,” Verdi’s “La Traviata,” and Donizetti’s “Lucia di Lammermoor,” Nadine Sierra summits another peak of the soprano repertoire as Amina, who sleepwalks her way into audiences’ hearts in Bellini’s poignant tale of love lost and found. In his new production, Rolando Villazón—the tenor who has embarked on a brilliant second career as a director—retains the opera’s original setting in the Swiss Alps but uses its somnambulant plot to explore the emotional and psychological valleys of the mind. Tenor Xabier Anduaga co-stars as Amina’s fiancé, Elvino, alongside soprano Sydney Mancasola as her rival, Lisa, and bass Alexander Vinogradov as Count Rodolfo. Playing Sat Nov 1. Pre-Opera talk, presented by Dr. Morton Achter, begins at 11:45 a.m. Opera Broadcast (encore) begins at 1 p.m. Tickets: $25 adult, $23 LT member, and only $5 for youth ages 18 and under. Tickets and Met Live in HD season subscriptions (save 10%) are on sale now!
