We need St. Andrews
Dear Editor:
The July 11, 2013 Boothbay Register has five recounts of why St. Andrews must stay operative as the hospital it has always been.
The five letters to the editor graphically report serious health conditions of folks that, were it not for the doctors and nurses on duty at St. Andrews Hospital, might otherwise have been the subject of a notice on the obituary page.
It does seem that Mr. Donovan and the LCH board should not even consider closing St. Andrews (the easiest solution to their problems of course) but they should (must) tackle the more difficult problem of keeping St. Andrews operating as it has been.
The old and young people on the Boothbay peninsula need close-to-home access to hospital care! Read those letters to the editor.
