Vote no on TIF proposal
Fri, 10/18/2013 - 5:00pm
Dear Editor:
I have been a Boothbay taxpayer since 1973, and a visitor to the area since 1955. Yet, because I am only a resident for five months, I am not allowed to vote on the proposed TIF ballot.
I am most distressed about this. Should the proposition pass, which I hope it does not, the beauty and peace and simplicity of this dear place on earth will be forever altered. And should it pass and insufficient revenues be raised to pay back the gamble, my taxes will go up. Isn't this taxation without representation?
