Veterans’ seminar this weekend
Dear Editor:
I am hearing from a number of sources that the Veterans Information Seminar fliers are posted all over town. I appreciate all the establishments support for allowing the flier to adorn your walls, bulletin boards, doors, and everywhere else they have been displayed. I also appreciate the Register space I have been provided in order to get the word out.
The Seminar is this coming Saturday, Jan. 9, from 9 a.m. to noon. In addition to the speaker's presentations, there will be plenty of time for questions and answers.
For veterans who haven’t used the VA in the past, you might find out there are benefits available for you. If you are a veteran and have been denied services, now is a great time to find out why. If you have used the VA in the past and have been frustrated with the system, great time to share your frustration with the VA leadership. If you have had positive experiences, it is always helpful to let them know that as well. If you are a care taker for a veteran or have elderly veteran relatives, this will be a great time to learn what the state has available for Maine Veteran Homes.
I look forward to seeing all the veterans in our community on Saturday! Yes, there will be muffins, bagels, and coffee available!
