Veggies to Table’s fall tours, workshops and events
Veggies to Table is opening the farm this fall for more learning, gathering and giving back. Community members are invited for guided farm tours and workshops for gardeners of all experience levels. The season also includes a special Harvest Dinner & Fundraiser at The Contented Sole benefiting Veggies to Table’s work growing and donating organic produce and flowers to neighbors in need.
“Education is more and more at the heart of what we do.” said Erica Berman, executive director of Veggies to Table. “We love welcoming people to the farm to learn, connect and see this work up close. It gives us a chance to share practical growing skills and celebrate the joy and purpose behind everything we grow.”
Fall Farm Tours
Oct. 7 and Oct. 23 • Free
Come walk the fields, meet the farm team and see what’s growing at Veggies to Table. Visitors will learn how the farm grows an abundance of organic produce and flowers for donation, where the harvest goes and how each crop helps nourish neighbors throughout the community.
Harvest Dinner and Fundraiser
Oct. 17, 5-8 p.m. $175 per person or $150 per person when reserving for two. Join Veggies to Table at The Contented Sole in New Harbor for an evening celebrating the abundance of the farm’s harvest with exceptional food, wine, and community. The harborside dinner will feature a harvest-inspired menu with cheeses and homemade desserts, accompanied by paired wines, sparkling wine, Allagash beer and Coffee By Design coffee. There will be a fun and festive raffle with prizes generously donated by local businesses and friends of Veggies to Table.
Beth Polhemus and Warren Busteed, owners of The Contented Sole, have donated the venue, food, and service, allowing all proceeds to support essential farm infrastructure, including a tool shed, equipment storage shed and produce wash-and-pack station. Space is limited and advance reservations are required.
