UPDATE: BHPD describes 2-car crash at town line as ‘severe’
UPDATE: On Oct. 2, at approximately 6:17 p.m., Boothbay Harbor Police, Boothbay Harbor Fire Department, Boothbay Fire Department, and Boothbay Region EMS responded to a severe accident on Townsend Avenue by the Boothbay Harbor and Boothbay town line.
A white GMC Acadia operator by Kasey Doolan, 29, of Edgecomb was traveling southbound and, from witness statements, crossed the center line, striking a white Ford Flex operated by Kristen Barter, 40, of Boothbay, who was traveling northbound. EMS treated both parties.
Doolan and a juvenile passenger were treated and released at the scene. Barter went to the hospital, was treated for a broken ankle, and was released. This investigation is ongoing, and it is unsure if there will be any charges.
ORIGINAL POST: An unidentified motorist was injured in a two-car accident Monday at the Boothbay-Boothbay Harbor line. After an initial investigation, Boothbay Harbor Police Department determined at approximately 6:17 p.m. one vehicle crossed the center line and struck the other. Police Chief Doug Snyder reported “it was a severe accident with one person sent to the hospital. The unidentified person was treated for a broken ankle and later released.”
