Two BRHS robotics teams qualify for state championship
The Boothbay Region High School robotics class recently attended a tournament at Hall-Dale High School. All four student teams made the final elimination cut, with two teams qualifying for the state championship and a third being just one spot away from qualifying.
Tyler Field, Quinn Ranta, Blake Erhard and Jay Hasch will be attending the state championship on March 3 in Biddeford. The remaining students will have one more chance to qualify at a tournament hosted by Yarmouth High School in February.
Just to be eligible for the tournament, each student team has designed, built and programmed a robot capable of moving and stacking cones of various sizes and weights. These robots feature both a predetermined autonomous mode and a remote control mode in which the students control the robots.
