Dear Editor:

The TV attack ads being run by our current senator against Troy Jackson could not be more false and misleading. Troy Jackson is a quiet, respectful, hard-working Mainer who has championed the needs of working and middle-class Mainers since he got into the legislature. I know this because I served with him in the legislature, and saw him in action day after day.

The TV attack ads against him are hateful. They are reminders that his opponent has no useful policy initiatives to offer; she offers only what Trump offers, and all she can do is try to tear down Troy Jackson.

Jackson, on the other hand, among other things, wants to create a fair tax system that asks the wealthy to pay their fair share. He wants to expand access to health insurance for all Mainers and all U.S. citizens. He wants to rein in ICE and create a solid immigration system based on law. He wants to create a working minimum wage, and create initiatives to build affordable housing. He wants ordinary people to be able to afford a decent life in our country.

I am sure your readers will look beyond the ridiculous sound bites telling lies about Troy Jackson, and that they will investigate his past and present policy proposals and that they will find them serious, useful, and above all, fair and just for Mainers and for our fellow citizens.
