Dear Editor:

On behalf of the Garden Club Federation of Maine, I would like to thank the Boothbay region merchants, the staff of the Spruce Point Inn and the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens for helping to make the 2013 Garden Club Federation of Maine Convention a great success.  

The more than 150 members truly enjoyed visiting the area and enjoying what those of us who live here are able to enjoy each day.  Our federation, which holds an annual convention hosted by districts throughout the state of Maine, was hosted this year by the Medomak District that includes the garden clubs of Bath, Boothbay, Camden, Topsham and Wiscasset.  

As Gertrude Jekyll aptly stated, “The love of gardening is a seed that once sown never dies.”  Our Garden Club members wish everyone a happy growing season.
