It’s hard to believe that it has been almost a full year since we have taken over ownership of the Don S. Sewall Co., now TDR Auto Supply, from David and Kenneth Gaecklein.

To celebrate this first anniversary, we will be having a contest to see if someone can come up with what our company’s acronym (TDR) stands for. Inspired by our son Benjamin, we will be giving away a $100 gift certificate for the most creative answer.

The winner can choose to redeem the certificate at any business in the Boothbay or Boothbay Harbor area.

Complete rules and entry blanks are at our Carquest store, 14 Oak Street, Boothbay Harbor (207-633-2582). Contest ends and winner will be drawn on May 5. The store will be open on Sunday, Cinco de Mayo, for five hours offering 5 percent off everything in the store.

We are so grateful to the community for supporting us in this endeavor and welcoming us into your community. My family relocated to the Boothbay area from Shapleigh, with the mother-in-law in tow. Just so you young fellas know, she’s single.

My wife Vicki was fortunate enough to find a position at the Hannaford in Damariscotta and my son, Benjamin, attends Boothbay Region Elementary School. Ben can also be seen helping out at the store earning money for college. Thank you for all your support in our first year.
