Courtesy of Jen MitchellSunday Aug. 23, Brady's, along with Brad Drummond and members of the VFW Post 2197 in Topsham, hosted an event to bring awareness to the Maine Paws for Veterans. This worthwhile group pairs rescue dogs with veterans suffering from PTSD and other injuries suffered during their tours of duty.
The Saltwater Hillbilly entertained over 100 people and encouraged them to purchase raffle tickets for a giant custom cooler filled with over $750 worth of prizes. Navy veteran Jay Quinn was also on hand to sell raffle tickets and great guests.
The winning ticket was sold to the Gill family of Massachusetts. Over $2,000 alone was raised by raffle sales along with swag sales from the Paws group, led by Jason Morgan, brought the total raised for the day to well over $3,500.
