Dear Editor:
Saturday, July 27 was a beautiful day for the over 200 participants in the fourth annual Lobster Roll 5K. All proceeds will be going toward the construction of an 8-lane community track. Many thanks to all the participants who came out to get some exercise and support this effort.

Thank you to Bob Hasch, Larry Brown, the Boothbay Harbor Police, and the 30+ community members who directed runners and motorist to help ensure a safe race. Thank you to all of the volunteers who worked course set-up and registration, including Owen Dionne and Nicholas Morley. Olivia Paolillo and Summer Chamberlain manned the T-shirt table and Hannah and Hayden Brewer helped on the clean-up crew. Thank you to David Benner and crew for helping get tables, chairs and cones. Thanks to Jonne Trees for videotaping the event and Sue Mello for reporting for the Boothbay Register. And last but not least, thank you to the motorists who practiced patience as participants traveled the course.
It was a successful event but would not have been possible without the volunteers and support.
