At the Opera House
Standing ovation for Ellis Paul
Thu, 06/20/2013 - 9:30am
Singer/songwriter Ellis Paul performed at the Opera House on June 15 using both his guitar named Guinness and the Opera House’s piano, occasionally adding a harmonica to the mix.
He twice broke into potential lyrics of a new song he’s working on that features Reny’s Department Store in Damariscotta.
He told stories of “the guitar that got away” that he loved but Neil Young bought and how his guitar Guinness was smashed during a show and restored by an unnamed luthier (a person who makes and repairs stringed instruments) in central Virginia, one splinter at a time.
