St. Columba’s Episcopal Church held its 10th annual Blueberry Festival on Saturday, Aug. 8, at its chapel on Emery Lane in Boothbay Harbor.

The event featured a blueberry pancake breakfast, a bake sale and silent auction.

Spokesperson Gloria Walter said that the church has held the blueberry festival every year since they moved into the new church 10 years ago. Previously the congregation had services at the Knights of Pythias Hall, the East Boothbay Methodist Church and at the Boothbay Railway Village.

The current chapel has the ability to transform from a place of worship to a multifunction room by rearranging the seating area. The building’s contours are roughly representational of a ship.

"It was the first church that the architect had designed," said Walter.

She said that the kitchen was prepared to serve many as many 150 breakfasts. Proceeds go to the general church collection fund.
