St. Andrews Auxiliary seeks new volunteers
St. Andrews Auxiliary was started more than 60 years ago to serve St. Andrews Hospital. Times have changed and now the Auxiliary has need for volunteers in many areas.
Members, both men and women, of the St. Andrews Auxiliary serve as greeters at the Urgent Care Center during the week. Many members volunteer at the St. Andrews Thrift Shop in the Meadow Mall. Other members volunteer their time at St. Andrews Village Gregory Wing. The volunteers help read to the residents, organize and play games with the residents and work with the Boothbay Region Garden Club as they provide arrangements for the residents.
By volunteering the Auxiliary helps to raise funds for scholarships in the medical field for local residents to continue their education. St. Andrews Thrift Shop raises money for large pieces of equipment for Lincoln Health, all to improve the quality of care.
The St. Andrews Auxiliary wants to increase its membership. There is a great need in the community for volunteers to help, whether it is one, two or three hours once a month or once a week. For further information, please contact Patty Colhoun at 350-4221. Help St. Andrews Auxiliary continue its valuable service to the Boothbay region.
