Southport Yacht Club: Maine clambake August 2
This Saturday evening, August 2, the Southport Yacht Club will host one of the most popular events for the season. Jack Bauman and his crew of past commodores and spouses will put on a traditional Maine clambake with all the fixings. You must sign up for this event either online or at the club. There are two sittings so you must specify which one works best for you. Steaks are another choice should you not want lobster.
For Turnabout fans, remember that there is the Pratt's Island race at 1 p.m. on Saturday. This is the granddaddy of all the Turnabout race as it was started over 30 years ago. Another item on the bulletin board is the annual golf tournament held at the Boothbay Harbor Country Club. The date is August 10 and you may contact Mark Powell to be one of the participants. Results of the Seguin race are not in yet and will be reported on next week.
There are 10 days before the annual Arts and Crafts Show. If you would like to have your crafts or art in the show please let me know and if you have a couple of hours to help we still have openings. Call 207-633-2117.
There are still rosters awaiting pick up. For those of you who are just arriving for August, please come into the building and find your copy. You might also need to contact Holly Lunt-Houston for a parking sticker for the SYC lot.
