Southport Winter Concert
It was a peaceful and joyous night at Southport Central School’s annual Winter Concert at the Southport Town Hall Wednesday, Dec. 20. The 35-minute program was enjoyed by the 100 or so parents, relatives and friends in attendance.
Under the direction of music teacher Jennifer McIvor, the 25 students sang and played instruments. Eight songs were performed and McIvor, on piano, led the gathering in the concert’s annual sing along featuring familiar Christmas songs, “Deck the Halls,” “Jingle Bells,” “Frosty the Snowman,” “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”
The performers by grade were:
Kindergarten: Brock Cunningham, Mabel Kaler, Duncan Scott and Kayla Watts
First grade: Haiden Blackman, McKinlee Madden and Jessie Ullo
Second grade: Makayla Abbe, Georgia Griffith, Silas Kaler, Liam Scott, Stella Stevens and Rosy Young
Third grade: Madisyn Thiboutot
Fourth grade: Lilly Burnham, Alex Heil, Harry Hinckley, Cameron Payson and Ella Watts
Fifth grade: Brian Abbe
Sixth grade: Azalea Bennett, Andrew Fowlie, Finn Harkins, Garrett Hurst, Robert Shaw and Corey Sherman
