On  Dr. Seuss' Birthday and Read Across America Day Friday, March 1 at Southport Central School three generations of the Thompson family came to read books to the children.

All three - Jean Thompson, her daughters Anne Maher and Marylou Koskela and granddaughter Carrie Koskela - attended Southport School.

Jean, also a former teacher at the school, told the children she was now the oldest resident of Southport, and about the Boston Post cane she was given.

“It was such a pleasure to have them read to the children,” said Eileen Higgins, Administrative Assistant & Technology Coordinator.
