Fri, 09/10/2021 - 7:45am

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office will be offering the Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Training on Tuesday, Sept. 28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. via Zoom. Lt. Rand Maker and Mark Bridgham will be providing the training. Attendees who successfully pass the course will receive a certification from the Bureau of Alcohol Beverages and Lottery Operations that is valid for two years. This certification can be required when applying for liquor licenses in some municipalities in Maine.

These trainings will cover Maine Liquor Laws as well as best practices for managing a bar or restaurant that serves alcohol. Topics include how to identify a fake ID and how to appropriately card anyone that looks under the age of 27. The course also covers how to avoid over-serving patrons. Beyond Maine law, this training provides vital public health information to help reduce drunk driving and other negative impacts of alcohol over-consumption.
