Dear Editor:

Her road signs proclaim that she is “our” senator. She is not. She is part of the Trump machine in the Senate, which does nothing unless Trump wants it. She is a cog in the Trump juggernaut, the most corrupt in American history. She is “his” senator. She is part of the juggernaut that has delivered policies resulting in higher diesel costs directly impacting the cost of food, higher costs for ordinary goods through the Trump tariffs, and loss of health insurance for millions of Americans. And there is the matter of his dictator-like behavior which ignores the very words of the law, and of our Constitution.

The only way we Mainers can put a monkey wrench in this machine is not to reelect “his” senator. If we reelect his senator, we will be endorsing a continuation of the high cost of living, high fuel costs and diminished health care, as well as the slide away from our democracy. If she is re-elected and Trump maintains control of the Senate, we are in for two more years of his reckless, corrupt, authoritarian behavior.

The only way we Mainers can stop this machine is to vote for Troy Jackson. He is the only one on the ballot who will truly be “our” senator. He will act to reverse the tariffs, stop the war in Iran, restore health care, and put policies in place that will result in taxes for the billionaires that reflect their fair share of the costs of our society.
