Selling arms to enemies
Dear Editor:
Americans have the right to own weapons, there is no dispute there, but do they have the right to arm terrorists? I should hope not.
The gun manufacturers' lobby had pulled out all stops to block any law that would make selling arms to terrorist more difficult. Recently they have successfully thwarted a proposal in Congress to include those on terrorist watch lists from being part of a background check when buying a weapon.
Owning a weapon is a American right protected under the Constitution, but selling arms to our enemies is not. Some would call this treason and I would call into question the patriotism of any who defend a system that allows gun manufacturers and their distributors to sell weapons to terrorists.
