Seahawks win 10th game, shut out Telstar
Sophomore Moriah Smith scored four and was one of six players who had goals in the Seahawks’ 11-0 victory over the visiting Telstar Rebels (0-11) on Monday, Oct. 6 at Perkins Field.
Boothbay’s victory gave the team 10 wins which has happened only one other time (2017) in the program’s 50-year history.
Other Seahawks scoring goals were Lilly Cowing with three, Olivia Hardwick, Ella Watts, Arabella Hodgdon and Allie Smart. Assists were credited to Smith with three and Tatum French with two.
Boothbay had 20-plus shots on goal and Telstar goalie Madelyn Cooley was credited with making 44 saves.
Prior to the start of the final regular season home game, seniors Ella Watts, Tatum French and Sophie White, and their parents were honored for their four years of dedication to the program.
Boothbay, ranked second in Class C South with a 10-1-1 record, is scheduled to take on fourth-ranked Hall-Dale/Monmouth (6-3-1) on Wednesday, Oct. 8 in Farmingdale, then close out the regular season on Saturday, Oct. 11 at Dirigo.
