Despite a slow start for the Seahawks, the Boothbay Region High School (BRHS) baseball team took an 8-5 win at Spruce Mountain April 19. It was BRHS’ first game of the season after its April 17 home game was postponed. 

Spruce Mountain took an early lead with the first run of the game in the second inning. Boothbay took time to respond, but sent a strong message with five runs in the fifth. Aidric Canada, Casey Phelps, Liam Jacobs, Aiden Locke and Paul Lambert each scored.  

The Phoenix tried to rise with a run in the fifth inning and three more in the sixth, tying the game. However, Phelps, Jacobs and Sam Markowitz sealed a Seahawks win with a run each in the seventh inning.

Liam Thomas, Sam Markowitz and Aidric Canada took the mound for the Seahawks with a combined 10 strikeouts.
