Seahawks shine at final regular-season XC meet
The Boothbay Region High School cross country team finished strong at their final regular-season meet Oct. 10 at Lisbon. The girls team won second place, the boys team won third, and Maddie Andreasen placed third overall.
Andreasen led the girls with a 23:01.10-minute finish. Other girls results were: Audrey Robinson, 10th, 25:18.20; Maggie McCarthy, 15th, 27:05.30; Lexi Hughes, 16th, 27:13.10; Rose Campbel, 24th, 29:05.80; Abby Orchard, 25th, 29:43.00; and Hannah Kreft, 37th, 33:34.20.
AJ Crocker led the boys, finishing in sixth place in 18:11.80. Other results were: Louie Caidoc, 13th, 19:16.10; Ross Gaffney, 17th, 19:57.50; Jackson Zehm, 20th, 20:11.90; John Cooper, 20:56.50; 24th, Ben Gapski (Wiscasset), 26th, 21:05.10; and Nathan Percival, 32nd, 21:53.00.
The Boothbay girls team placed second with 49 points and a 26:20-minute average, and Madison Area Memorial High School won with 44 points and a 25:06 average. The boys team placed third with a 19:42 average and 63 points, and Winthrop High School placed first with an 18:28 average and 31 points.
Boothbay's next meet, the Mountain Valley Conference Championships, is scheduled for Oct. 18 at the University of Maine at Augusta.
