New candidate Desiree Scorcia defeated longtime incumbent Charles "Chuck" Cunningham by five votes, 206 to 201, in the Boothbay Board of Selectmen's race on Monday, May 6, according to results submitted by Town Clerk Lynn Maloney.

Also, warrant articles 3 through 32 passed and uncontested incumbents won the other races: W. Bruce MacDonald for CSD School Committee; V. Kevin Anthony for CSD Board of Trustees; Alan Bellows for Boothbay Region Water District trustee; and Stanley "Swing" Lewis for Cemetery District trustee.
