Sarah Whitfield will be joining the staff of the Congregational Church of Boothbay Harbor (UCC) on Oct. 1 as our associate pastor. A native of Wiscasset, Sarah recently completed her ministry studies with the Maine School of Ministry and has spent the last five years covering sabbaticals and serving as a supply preacher at 14 different churches throughout Maine. She is a member in discernment at the First Congregational Church of Wiscasset and is currently completing her portfolio to be eligible for ordination. She's excited to be rejoining the Congregational Church of Boothbay Harbor after having spent a nine-month internship with them in 2024-2025. She'll be working with children and families, providing pastoral care, and preaching occasionally. 

Sarah is also the director of Annual Giving and Alumni Engagement at the University of Maine School of Law. She's a graduate of Colby College and holds a master’s and a Ph.D. in public policy. She's currently serving her fourth term on the Wiscasset Board of Selectmen and spent five years as chair.  

She and her partner Dennis love to travel and hear live music. They are well on their way to making it to all seven continents and have a four-year streak of hearing live music at least once a week.
