Road in Bremen to be shut for two weeks
A section of Route 32 in Bremen will be closed for two weeks starting Friday, July 26.
The road will be closed for a scheduled culvert replacement, the Maine Department of Transportation announced in a release.
The project will be slightly north of the Bremen-Round Pond town line, and motorists going north or south out of Round Pond will have a detour to Lower Round Pond Road to Route 130 in Bristol.
Motorists heading north or south out of Bremen will take a detour north to Waldoboro or to Biscay Road to Route 1 in Damariscotta.
The $270,000 project, which will be constructed by Damarscotta's Hagar Enterprises, will replace a deteriorating and smaller culvert with a large strut.
The funding for the restoration of the fish passage was provided by NOAA, Gulf of Maine Council, American Rivers, Maine Natural Resource Council and the Maine DOT.
