Climate cards and cookies
After a successful King Tide and rising sea level event and community discussion at the Boothbay Region Y (and a nice article by Isabelle Curtis), the Boothbay Region Climate Action Team is eager to keep the conversation going. They are gathering input from community members about their climate change priorities and how local impacts are felt.
The next opportunity to join the discussion will be at the Climate Card Game event, held at the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library at 4 Oak St. on Saturday, March 8 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Using climate-themed cards, the team will guide conversations on important local topics. This activity will encourage a variety of perspectives and helps shape future actions.
Discussions will focus on community priorities, including but not limited to: protecting utilities, preserving living shorelines, supporting vulnerable populations, strengthening infrastructure against extreme weather and enhancing transportation strategies.
What more could we do? Come share your thoughts, connect with neighbors, and enjoy a cookie or two! If you can’t attend on March 8, but would like to stay informed about future events or get involved, please contact BRclimate@gmail.com
