In praise of homework
Dear Editor:
Why is it that nobody wants to do a little homework anymore, especially when that homework requires a little reading (God forbid)?
Consider the “passage” of the Affordable Care Act, for example, a great success to the socialist ideologues, but an evolving nightmare for so many other ordinary citizens, like you and me. This law is now tearing America apart, leaving millions without medical insurance, and attracting very few to the exchanges which offer less coverage for more money and higher deductibles, and all because virtually every member of Congress who voted for it was too lazy to even read the bill. To be blunt, the Affordable Care Act is becoming an economic albatross, overnight, all because our political leadership did not do its homework.
Perhaps we have come to a crossroads, where our political leadership has simply become too lazy, too arrogant and too uninformed to even begin to manage our domestic and foreign policy needs. How much longer can we continue to accept high unemployment, college grads without jobs, part-time labor, $50 million on food stamps, $17 trillion in debt, Middle Eastern unrest, mob violence for fun, and incessant terrorist threats, to name a few of the larger problems
And for what reason, just because the dog ate the DC homework?
