Paul Zalucky to speak at Rotary

Mon, 03/28/2022 - 8:45am

On Thursday, March 31, Paul Zalucky, retired CIA senior executive officer, will give a presentation on the “Crisis in Ukraine” at the Boothbay Harbor Rotary Club weekly meeting. Zalucky was recently featured in the Boothbay Register where he described his personal background and shared his extensive knowledge of the current war raging in Ukraine. Among other places, Zalucky served in Moscow, Kyiv and Warsaw, in that order, over several decades of government service, developing a wide range of expertise in central European affairs. As a private international business consultant, Zalucky now advises firms in the US and abroad on cyber-security and is currently partnering with a Ukrainian company that provides cyber-security services worldwide.

Zalucky is fluent in his native Ukrainian language and also speaks Russian and Polish. He is an active member of the US-Ukraine Business Council and maintains an impressive network of contacts within the region, all of which keep him abreast of the “on the ground” military and humanitarian situation. Zalucky is working closely with an NGO well placed to provide rescue, relief and the replenishment of supplies and, on another front, is assisting with much needed and effective initiatives for Ukraine’s defense. He is personally assisting his own family members and colleagues, some of whom wish to leave, and others who are choosing to remain in Ukraine.

The Rotary Club welcomes anyone interested in Mr. Zalucky’s presentation. Our clubhouse is at 66 Montgomery Road, Boothbay Harbor. Our meeting starts at 6 p.m. with a buffet dinner, followed by club business. Our speakers usually have the floor around 6:45.
