Dear Editor:

The fishing vessel Sarah C. is the last of the 70-foot draggers to be put out of business because of government regulations and the age of the boat.

It is not very pretty to look at while it sits in the mud amongst the pilings at Knickerbocker, but it is part of history like the ice company that was there years ago.

The boat reminds me of an old gull that some other gulls picked on because it was not longer seaworthy.
