Our famous Time & Tides waits for no man
Dear Editor:
A Silver Lining’s once a week weather chart goofed last week. I believe it above and beyond my very accurate tidal clock.
So last Monday, I made my usual dip at 6 a.m. at Hendricks Beach. When I arrived, there was only a little beach left. But I waded in. Later that morning, I confronted A Silver Lining owner Tony Heyl.
“Oh my. I forgot to change last Monday’s early time. I was wrong. You don’t need to show me where on your clipping, Bob,” said Tony.
In these past 30 years of these charts, located on the bottom of page 3 of our Boothbay Register, this is his one and only mistake.
He deserves our highest praise — both for this record and for his wonderful high honesty.
Next time you go into his oh, so wonderful shop, give him a handshake or hug. He is precious.
