Recognizing the pressing need to support the most vulnerable members of the community, Paul Coulombe has initiated a fund to alleviate the burden of property taxes through the establishment of a dedicated property tax relief fund.

The fund, to be overseen by the Community Resource Council (CRC), aims to provide critical assistance to seniors and other community members facing financial hardship. The Community Resource Council’s Director, Holly Stover said “With property taxes often posing a significant obstacle to financial stability, especially for those on fixed incomes, this initiative couldn't come at a more crucial time.”

By targeting property tax relief, Coulombe is addressing a significant household expense that directly impacts the quality of life for many individuals and families.

The program's overarching goal is to construct a robust safety net, ensuring that those most in need receive the financial support they need to pay their property taxes and remain in their homes. For seniors, in particular, who may be living on fixed incomes and facing escalating living costs, property tax relief can allow them to stay in their homes and age in place.

While specific details regarding program guidelines and eligibility requirements are still forthcoming, the overarching message is one of inclusivity and compassion. The fund is designed to be accessible to those who need it most, with a focus on addressing genuine need without bureaucratic hurdles.

For those inspired to join Coulombe in his philanthropic endeavors, opportunities to contribute to the fund will be made available. Please know that every contribution has the potential to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those facing financial hardship.

The Community Resource Council Board Treasurer, Angie McLellan said “this property tax relief fund provides hope to our neighbors in need, reminding us all of the profound impact that acts of generosity like this can have on our communities. Together, we offer a safety net, where no individual is left behind due to financial hardship.”
