Ocean Point Column: Summer-like weather and more
Although it’s officially fall, the weather indicates that we are still enjoying summer and I have decided that this is truly “the endless summer.” For those not fortunate enough to be here we have experienced day after day of bright blue skies, warm temperatures and sparkling ocean.
Congratulations to beloved Ocean Pointer Joan Libby who along with her family and friends celebrated a milestone birthday last week; we all wish you many more healthy years ahead Joan.
Congratulations to Lincoln Hamblett who was nominated in this year’s Chamber of Commerce annual Community Awards. Lincoln was nominated in the young professional category as someone with a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Those who know Lincoln certainly agree that she exemplifies these qualities and more. Lincoln is the daughter of Andy and Meagan Hamblett and granddaughter of Pete and Suzie Hamblett.
Sadly, many of us are nearing the end of the season. Seasonal water turnoff is scheduled for Thursday Oct. 16 and the Inn will close Monday morning Oct. 13. Thank you to the entire staff for a wonderful season.
If you are staying longer please continue to support the local businesses. I was pleasantly surprised to discover a new business in the Meadow Mall (mini mall location) just last week. While searching for a place to buy flowers I found Harbor Blooms Floral Shop. Owners Tom Peaslee and his wife Lisa opened this past spring and are a much needed addition to the area. Tom arranged the most beautiful bouquet of flowers for me and I learned that delivery is free on the peninsula. Tom and his wife have plans to decorate and sell Christmas wreaths for the holiday season. If you have not had the opportunity to visit the shop I highly recommend that you do.
The 10-day forecast is for a continuation of the beautiful weather; enjoy and have a great week
