Oak Hill beats Boothbay baseball, 13-1
Three errors and two bad innings resulted in Boothbay losing to Mountain Valley Conference rival Oak Hill, 13-1, May 18 in high school baseball. Boothbay loaded the bases in the first inning, and scored the game's first run. Oak Hill responded, taking advantage of Seahawk fielding and scoring five times in the bottom of the first. The Raiders added six more runs in the third and two more in the fourth. Boothbay failed to score in the fifth which resulted in the mercy rule being enforced.
Boothbay managed three hits. Casey Phelps singled twice and Aiden Locke recorded a single. Boothbay left seven men on base. Oak Hill starter Keegan Morrisette pitched five innings, walked three and struck out eight.
For Boothbay, pitcher Casey Phelps pitched 2.1 innings, allowed three hits, five earned runs, walked three and struck out four. Dylan Chryplewicz pitched two-thirds of an inning. He allowed two hits, two earned runs, walked one and struck out one. Les White pitched the fourth inning. He allowed one hit, two unearned runs, and struck out one.
Boothbay is now 1-7 and in eighth place in the Class D South standings. Oak Hill improves to 4-5 and is in 11th place in the Class C South standings.
Boothbay hosts Mt. Abram (3-6) on Wednesday, May 20.
