Dear Editor:

For the seventh straight year, I am happy to announce the success of the No Excuses program. Once again there were no alcohol related accidents or OUI arrests in the Boothbay region during New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day.

I would like to thank all of the awesome sponsors that made No Excuses 2017 possible: Boathouse Bistro, China By The Sea, McSeagulls, Pier One Pizza, Mystic Mermaid, Robinson’s Wharf, The Thistle Inn, Watershed Tavern and Federal Distributors. Their effort and participation of sponsoring the local cab companies on New Year’s Eve provides a level of appreciation, respect, and safety for their patrons and the community as a whole that is unmatched.

I would also like to thank all the drivers of Bo Bo’s Coastal Cabs and Richard’s Riverside. Their participation and commitment to help keep the community safe is beyond compare.
