News and Notes from The Community Center
We are experiencing wonderful success with the Memory to Memoir Workshop. The spring session is full and we have a waiting list. Be sure to watch for an additional offering from Barbara Burt later in the season. In the meantime, if you are interested in putting pen to paper, the Boothbay Writers Group meets on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 6 p.m. A little something for everyone.
Beginning on April 1, there will be a “Bring A Friend Quilt Raffle.” Well, not really a raffle --- we will give away a beautiful professionally quilted lap robe to one whose name is drawn randomly on May 1. Each person who brings a friend to take a tour gets two tickets and the friend gets two tickets. The tickets are filled out with name and contact number and dropped in the jar. Some lucky person is going to win a beautiful spring quilt and we will show our center to many new people. Win-win.
Also in April we will be offering a special class called Money Smart For Young Adults. Sponsored by Bath Savings, this class meets four times in April on Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m. Each week will tackle a different facet of personal money management and will include a pizza dinner. Free to all, this is an ideal opportunity to get on board with managing life’s challenges. Either call in, drop by, or message us on Facebook, to join the class.
Easter is coming and Mother’s Day is coming. Why not give a 911 sign as a special gift to one you love? We have them right here at the Center.
If you need the van to pick you up and take you to walk at the Y or if you need more information about our programs, call 633-9876.
Joke of the Week: Q: What do you get when you pour hot water down a rabbit hole? A: A hot cross bunny.
