News and Notes from The Community Center

Santa’s Elves descended on the Center on Friday, last, and the place is a hub of Christmas spirit. The Gift Shop is full of wonderful gift items—handcrafted by our sewing and knitting groups—and new or gently used collectibles donated by friends.

Shoes. Shoes. Shoes. 300 pairs and still counting. We are so pleased to be able to spread the spirit of giving around the world through the Shoes With Heart program. Collection boxes have been placed at Edgecomb Eddy School and the Southport School. The 5th and 6th grades at the Boothbay Elementary School are participating as well. This is an ideal opportunity for parents and kids to clean out the closet.

On Friday, we are offering a Christmas Wreath Making Workshop. Come by or call to get a supply list. We will meet in the evening from 6-9 so that those who work can come and join in.

We are looking forward to our annual visit from the Lighthouse Learning Center next week. We will make ornaments, sing carols, and read Christmas stories.
