New season of arts films at Harbor Theater
Come revel in six remarkable films celebrating arts from painting to opera from the Renaissance to the Contemporary during the 2025-26 season of Harbor Theater’s "Arts on Film" series. Films in the series show monthly on the third Saturday at 2 p.m.
The season begins on Saturday, Oct. 18 with a screening of the American Masters 2018 film "Wyeth," which tells the story of one of America’s most popular, but least understood, artists – Andrew Wyeth. Last season, we showed the 2024 Jamie Wyeth film to sold out audiences, so don’t miss this chance to see the documentary about father Andrew Wyeth.
November’s offering will be the marvelous Exhibition on Screen work, "Caravaggio." In January, we will present a special program which combines a screening of Ingmar Bergman’s 1975 film "The Magic Flute," with an introduction and live vocals by local bass John Adams. In February, the film is a new documentary, "The True Story of Tamara De Lempicka & The Art of Survival." March sees another offering from Exhibition on Screen, "Turner and Constable." Returning in April: "Georgia O’Keeffe: The Brightness of Light." If you missed this compelling documentary of O’Keefe’s life and work when it was shown this summer at Harbor Theater, here’s your chance to catch it! Closing the season in May, Exhibition on Screen brings us an updated Frida Kahlo with exclusive new bonus material from the upcoming exhibition "Frida Kahlo; the Making of an Icon" at Museum of Fine Art Houston and Tate Britain.
