National Life Chain
Dear Editor:
On Sunday, Oct. 6, the 26th National Life Chain will be held across the United States and Canada. Tens of thousands of pro-life people will gather beside main streets to pray silently and hold signs to remind those passing by that abortion kills children and hurts women.
They will stand in honor of the 55 million lives who have been lost to abortion in our country since 1973. Every year young women report deciding not to have an abortion after reading the signs and seeing the people praying.
This year in Maine Life Chains will form in Lewiston/Auburn, Portland, Fort Kent, Ellsworth, Columbia, Lincoln and Wiscasset. The Wiscasset Life Chain will be held on Route One in front of the Wiscasset Town Hall from 2 to 3 p.m. on October 6. Signs will be provided.
"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land." (2 Chronicles 7:14)
