Midcoast Humane’s 17th annual Plant Sale to benefit shelter animals

    Midcoast Humane will host its 17th annual Plant Sale to raise money for shelter animals on Saturday, May 18. The sale will be held at 190 Pleasant Street, Brunswick from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

    The sale features annuals, vegetables, shrubs, bulbs, perennials, bulbs, seeds, trees, decorative pots and other items. All proceeds from the sale will benefit Midcoast Humane’s 3,500 annual residents.

    Homemade baked goods will be available for purchase, as well as grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, and veggie burgers.

    At this year’s sale, the shelter will also welcome vendors, including Bowline Co., a business that creates bow ties and bandanas for both canines and humans; artist and pet portraitist Sarah Traub, who will take orders for pet paintings, and donate a portion of sales to the shelter; and Pups n’ ME, creators of pet bandanas, leashes, shirts, and bracelets, their proceeds will also benefit shelter pets.

    In preparation for the plant sale, Midcoast Humane is seeking donations of plants and pots of all sizes, and encourages anyone cleaning up or downsizing their gardens to consider donating their unwanted plants to the shelter.
