Postponing the community Christmas dinner at the American Legion Hall in Boothbay until the day after Christmas did not wane the spirits of over 60 people who attended Tuesday, Dec. 26. Dinner started at noon and many escaped the bitter cold into the hall filled with Robert Moore’s melodious Christmas tunes on the piano.

After mixing and mingling for a bit, people were greeted by Barb House and Nancy Van Dyke. House led a prayer over the holiday meal and Van Dyke thanked the Boothbay Harbor Hannaford and Newcastle Chrysler for donating to Toys for Tots.

“You guys all matter and because you do, that’s why we’re doing this,” said Van Dyke. “So welcome and enjoy your dinner.”

Added House, “As my youngest grandson would say, ‘Dig in!’”
