Making the connection with our students
On Wednesday, March 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Boothbay Region High School gymnasium will connect students in grades 8 – 12 with local businesses and community organizations.
Community Connections organizers Brooke Newberg (BRHS’s guidance counselor), Pauline Dion (Boothbay Sea and Science Center’s president/executive director ) and George Schimert (Boothbay Harbor Country Club’s executive chef) have joined forces to create this unique event that offers students the chance to learn more about local job and volunteer opportunities and to explore, firsthand through conversation, future career paths.
According to the organizers, keeping our community a place where our youth are connected, feel a deep sense of belonging and know that they are valued are the guiding principles upon which this event is built.
Businesses and organizations interested in participating need to email Newberg at bnewberg@csd3-brhs.org or Dion at pacojoes2@aol.com by March 2.
