Healthy Lincoln County, Let’s Go! Lincoln County and Lincoln County Healthcare sponsor an annual winter physical challenge, and this year as a county we all went "Sledding to Sweden."

The challenge is a seven-week winter event in which participants are physically active at least 30 minutes, four times a week to reach the goal of “traveling” to a far off location and returning to Maine. This is the first year that Boothbay schools were involved and as a result Mrs. Ingraham and Mrs. Andrews had some very special guests last Friday in their classroom.

Mainely Moose, who makes the journey every year for the challenge, and Redy from the Let's Go! program, handed out gold and silver medals to students in the first grade. It was a big treat for the whole grade and was a great way to celebrate the success of all the physical activity that the students participated in during the long winter!

Redy reminded everyone of the Let's Go! 5, 2, 1, 0 message of; Eat 5 servings of fruits and veggies each day, 2 hours or less of screen time, 1 hour of physical activity and 0 sugary drinks.
