It’s Class C South championship Saturday at the Augusta Civic Center and Kevin Burnham and Bill Pearson will be updating this game between No. 2 Boothbay Region Seahawks and No. 4 Madison Bulldogs, which tips off at 7:05 p.m. Boothbay comes into the game at 19-1, having defeated Carrabec, 32-17, in the quarterfinal round and Monmouth, 36-34, in the semifinal round. Madison, at 14-7, defeated Waynflete in the preliminary round, 39-38, Traip in the quarterfinals, 43-30, and Searsport, 43-27, in the semifinals.
This is the third battle between these two teams this season. Boothbay won both games, 48-38 at Madison and 44-27 at BRHS.
So here goes....
First quarter: Boothbay Region leads Madison 6-4 after one quarter at the Class C South girls regional championship.
Second quarter: Boothbay Region leads Madison 13-6 at halftime. Forward Page Brown leads all scorers with seven.
Third quarter: Boothbay Region continues to lead Madison, 25-12. Forward Page Brown has nine points, guard Kate Friant has eight.
Fourth quarter: Boothbay Region wins Class C South girls basketball championship. Page Brown led all scorers with 19.
