A knight on the town with Monty Python's 'Spamalot'

“Spamalot” sticks closely to the plot of the classic film “Monty Python and The Holy Grail.” In plague-ridden medieval England, King Arthur, Sir Lancelot, Sir Bedevere, Sir Galahad, and Sir Robin all band together to seek the Grail for the glory of the kingdom. They are aided by The Lady of the Lake, a mythical damsel who receives far too little stage time for her liking. As the Knights close in on their goal, they navigate a constant stream of strange characters and absurd foes while uncovering hidden truths about themselves.
Outrageous sketches, farcical gags and a constant bombardment of cultural references fit the stage even better than the screen while still preserving the spirit of the original film. Show stopping songs include “Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life,” “Find Your Grail” and “You Won't Succeed On Broadway.”
With over 40 people in the cast, the Boothbay Playhouse production is directed by Ginny Bishop and stars John Adams as King Arthur, Emily Moore as The Lady of the Lake, Andy Luke as Prince Herbert, the Minstrel, and Not Dead Fred, Nicholas Carroll as Lancelot, Joel Biron as Dennis/Galahad, Robo Bishop as Robin, Cole Domeyer as Bedevere, Nick Mirabile as Patsy, Tom Dewey as the Knight of Ni, Alan Baldwin as the Black Knight, Nick Azzaretti as the French Taunter, Jay Lewis as Mayor of Finlandia, Dean Domeyer as Tim the Enchanter, Malerie Jo, Nellie Kelly, Courtney Chaney, Sophia Thayer, Devin Domeyer and Genevieve Taylor as the Laker Girls, George Bishop as Herbert's Father and Donna Griffin as Dennis's Mother.
The large ensemble changes in and out of over 300 costumes to play a host of characters and includes Erin Blomquist, Michael Burrell, Mackenzie Colby, Aaron Densmore, Ben Dewey, Chris Dugay, Gretchen Elder, Hannah Elder, Taylor Fish, Kate Friant, Nate Friant, Bill Holcomb, Caroline Hunt, Suzanne Jones, Sandy Larson, Riley McCurdy, Gwen Pasch, Roger Reed, Chris Reynolds, Kelly Sherwood and Noelle Timberlake.
