Kathy was born Jan. 17, 1954 in Boothbay to Roscoe Dodge and Betty Ann (Child) Dodge. Kathy grew up on Southport and graduated from Boothbay Region High School. She later attended beautician school in Augusta. She worked simultaneously as a hair stylist, EMT for the Boothbay Region Ambulance Service and CNA for St. Andrews Hospital. Kathy worked in cafeteria food service primarily in Westbrook where she and her family lived. She also worked as a hairdresser. Kathy and her family moved back to Boothbay Harbor in the mid ’90s. Kathy was very community minded and would go above and beyond to help anyone in need. She loved kids and would fill her house with neighborhood children to cut their hair and feed them. Kathy always saw the good in people. She had a big heart and volunteered in man places throughout the Boothbay region. Her kindness helped countless people in the community.

The magnitude of her giving back to the community she loved so much will be felt for many, many years to come.

She was a member of the Order of The Eastern Star, Beacon Chapter, and the Southport United Methodist Church where she also sang in the choir.

She was predeceased by her husband, Allen J. Barter, and by a brother, Randy Danforth.
