Summer is only days away and the Wiscasset Art Walk, on the last Thursday of the summer months, welcomes area residents and visitors from away to enjoy art, music and performance, indoors and out, in the heart of Wiscasset Village.
On Thursday, June 29, from 5 to 8p.m., the accomplished jazz duo of David Lawlor and Neil Lamb entertain WAW’s sidewalk strollers with their extraordinary music, while Treats, just next door, resumes its wine tastings this summer, a very popular WAW feature.
The galleries will be open late for art browsing with accomplished musicians providing the accompaniment. Most of the Village shops will also stay open late for shopping or browsing, many featuring local artists, a standout feature of Wiscasset’s art walk.
Visitors can buy a fresh floral bouquet, direct from local gardens, courtesy of Garden Club of Wiscasset members, and WAW is a great time to learn about other community initiatives from the displays along the busy sidewalks. Local creatives display their work for visitors – a game of chess, anyone?
All are welcome for a beautiful evening, rain or shine, along our sparkling Sheepscot River! Lots of free parking; park once and stroll.
The WAW sponsors who support the many free activities and performers are Lead Sponsor Fogg and Dalton Art Restoration and Major Sponsors Ames True Value, Big Barn Coffee, Carriage House Gardens, Cod Cove Inn, First National Bank, J. Edward Knight Insurance, Peter Eaton Antiques, Red’s Eats, Rock Paper Scissors, Sherri Dunbar/Tim Dunham Realty, IndustrialME, BIRCH Home Furnishings & Gifts, and Water Street Kitchen & Bar.
