It’s back: Southport’s 4th of July Parade!

Fri, 06/25/2021 - 10:00am

After canceling last year due to COVID-19, the Southport Island Association is happy to announce that there will be a Fourth of July Parade on Sunday, July 4.

Southport residents are invited to participate with decorated vehicles, bicycles, wagons or just come to celebrate Independence Day and have fun.

The morning will start with coffee and treats in front of the Newagen Library at 8:30 a.m. The parade’s grand marshal will be there to greet parade participants and watchers.

The parade will kick off at 9 from the Town Landing with cars/floats in the front and bikes/walkers following.

The parade route is the same as past years and will pass by the library, circle through the Newagen and return to the library.  Chairs will be spaced to encourage social distancing and masks are available if requested. Everything should conclude by 9:30 to 9:45.
